![]() Development Role: Capturing the essence of each television show and translating it into an engaging site while following strict design guidelines was the major challenge of working with Columbia TriStar. Each show site was required to not only present large amounts of information, but also fit within the larger Sony/Columbia TriStar architecture. Featuring downloadable photos of cast members, video and audio clips, production info, bios on the stars and more, each site also includes a dedicated "chat" forum. The site developed for Seinfeld uses Jerry's apartment buzzer as the navigation tool. A "View Jerry's World in Virtual Reality" section invites visitors to download QuickTime VT panoramas of the apartment and coffee show set. New in the Columbia TriStar line-up is Dawson's Creek. Now the "official" site for the popular production, it was originally launched prior to the pilot air date and was very successful in generating a good buzz about the show. The Walker, Texas Ranger site relies on icons from the old West to convey the feel of the series. Head Over Heels is set in a lively Miami Beach video dating service. Neon, pink flamingos and dashboard Hula Girl dolls are used to set the tone for this site. While the show didn't make it onto the lineup, the site was very well-received.
Over The Top is set in a
New York hotel so items like desk bells, door knockers and martini glasses were incorporated as
navigation tools. Another show which didn't make the final cut, the site captured the look and feel of the production.
