Development Role:
Using a unique "directed experience" approach, The Hunchback of Notre Dame web site premiered on May 8 with "Event I" of thirty-one total events in the making of the film. Up until the film's premiere on June 19, a new "Event" greeted visitors to the site every weekday. The pages corresponding to each "Event" were added to the body of the site simultaneously. Those visiting the site after the "directed experience" concluded can still view the chronology in the "Page du Jour" section.
This huge site contains over 170 pages including background info on the film, filmmakers, animators and computer experts; character sketches and voice talent bios; storybooks; sound bytes, music and video clips, Shockwave and
downloadable games; wallpaper, icons and coloring pages; a theater database and
much, much more. The film premiere was covered LIVE from New Orleans on the site
with digital photos and essays.
